A Port Hedland funeral company has won the new tender to transport cadavers to morgues of the region.

Funeral company L&M Tamblyn took up the job in 2015, which was previously provided by Pilbara Funeral Services.

Its $222,785 contract started on January 8 and will run until January 8, 2019.

The contract covers Goldsworthy, Marble Bar, Port Hedland, Shay Gap, South Hedland, Dampier, Hearson Cove, Karratha, Pannawonica, Paraburdoo, Roebourne, Tom Price, Wickham, Wittenoom, Onslow, and Nullagine. Pilbara Funeral Services had its contract revoked in 2014 by the Department of the Attorney General.
