Port Hedland’s premier makers and crafters markets will return to the Courthouse Gallery gardens this Saturday, bringing together more than 50 local and visiting stallholders to showcase art, craft, clothing, and gourmet produce.

The West End Markets, delivered by FORM, offer an array of family-friendly entertainment including fairy face-painting, a giant interactive turtle installation, and a craft activity delivered by guest artist Louise Snook.

FORM regional manager Mollie Hewitt said the markets were all about celebrating what makes the Port Hedland community unique.

“When we heard about Evelyn Roth’s giant participatory turtle from her Nylon Zoo we were excited to offer this opportunity for Port Hedland families,” she said.

Port Hedland Netball Association will also be running a Market Bar outside the Silver Star Cafe from 4pm until 8pm.

Travelling stallholders include Paraburdoo-based Kader Boots Co, famous for their outback style boots, and Melbourne sisters Bibi and Veronica of Hello Tangle, who will be exposing the Pilbara to their unique beading and woven products.

The sisters will also host a beading and contemporary embroidery workshop on Sunday, May 6, at 10am to share their expertise.

Tickets can be purchased for $50 ahead of time from the Courthouse Gallery.

The West End Markets are held four times a year through a partnership with BHP and ongoing support from the Town of Port Hedland.
