Girl, 15, faces court over ‘serious’ crash

A 15-year-old girl will appear in South Hedland Children’s Court today on charges related to a crash which left a passenger seriously injured.

Police say the girl was travelling north on Hamilton Road in a red Holden Commodore Sedan at about 4am on Friday, April 7 when she lost control and collided with a lamp post near Hedditch Street.

The 24-year-old female passenger received serious injuries and was taken to Perth for medical treatment, while the driver and 26-year-old male passenger received minor injuries.

The juvenile has been charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, no authority to drive, driving under the influence of drugs, and failing to report an incident occasioning death or grievous bodily harm.
