Recent fundraising results from supermarket giant Coles has revealed South Hedland is among the top 10 most generous communities in WA.

Almost $45,000 has been donated to various charities including Redkite, SecondBite, Guide Dogs Australia and Bravery.

Coles South Hedland store manager Dean Garlinge said the fundraising efforts were a testament to the kindness and generosity of local shoppers and reflected the community’s ongoing support. “This was a huge achievement for the supermarket, which committed to give back as much as possible to the community in recent years,” he said.

He said raising funds for charity was an important part of the store’s day-to-day activities, along with encouraging staff get behind and support national initiatives and local schools and groups.

Coles is fundraising for the Bravery Trust to provide support to veterans who are suffering as a result of their service to Australia.
