Hedland SES ransacked

Sam JonesNorth West Telegraph

Police are seeking information after the Hedland State Emergency Service was ransacked overnight.

A post to the SES Facebook page said laptops, operations screens, television sets, vacuum cleaners and data projectors were among the items stolen.

“We here at the SES try to remain positive in the face of adversity, however, this morning we can not hold our frustration, despair and anger back,” the emotional post said.

“A mess, the unit had been ransacked... not only do the Volunteers arrive pumped up to be able to go and assist someone but they get slapped in the face with frustration and despair when greeted by someone’s mess... that destroys their hard work (sic).”

Port Hedland Police officer in charge Sergeant Stephen Cleal said police were seeking information which could lead to a suspect.
