Hedland touch footy kicks off for 2022

Hedland Touch Association is officially back for its 2022 season, with the first round of scratch matches played at Marie Marland Reserve on Wednesday evening. Thunderstorms may have been forecast, but nothing could dampen the excitement of a new season, with plenty of familiar and new faces keen to get in on the action. New teams Trailer Park Trash, Saints and Qubans join mainstays of the competition Nads, Rusty Pipes, Quality Coatings, Touchy Touchy, Phoenix, Emus, Conquerors, Chafing Dreams and Crazy Horses. The 2021 season saw the dominant Nads beat the Rusty Pipes in the A-grade grand final, and Chafing Dreams come out on top over Quality Coatings in the B-grade grand final. This week, the A-grade premiers drew with the B-grade runners-up in a friendly scratch match between the two sides. The question now stands as to who will take home the premiership in 2022.
