A 16-year-old boy has been charged with reckless driving and has had his quadbike seized in an incident that occurred in South Hedland on last Monday.

It will be alleged the accused was riding an off-road quad bike and travelling at speeds between 80 and 90km/h in a 50km/h zone.

Police also alleged that the male rider, who is from Redbank, drove the vehicle at a speed that allowed two wheels to lift off the road.

The driver has been charged with one count of reckless driving in a confiscation zone, no authority to drive and using an unlicensed vehicle on a road and is due to appear in the South Hedland Children’s Court on Friday, August 25.
