Hopes workshop will spark big impacts from closer collaboration between diverse community organisations

More than 40 community organisations from across the Pilbara and Perth have taken part in a special first-of-its-kind workshop aimed at creating opportunities for collaboration between them. The BHP Impact Together Community Partner Workshop was held in Perth last week over two days welcoming representatives from organisations working across health, education, training, youth and Indigenous engagement, community safety and liveability. BHP head of corporate affairs WA Fiona Hadley said the workshop demonstrated the powerful role partnership plays in driving long-term change. “Strong communities don’t happen by chance and no one organisation can build them alone. Real impact comes through working with partners who understand community needs and deliver life‑changing programs everyday,” she said. “The connections forged here at Impact Together will ripple across WA for years to come, and we’re thrilled to be able to bring so many incredible organisations together in one place to make that possible.” Organisations attending the workshop included Hedland Well Women’s Centre, West Coast Eagles, Newman Women’s Shelter, Royal Life Saving Society of WA, Child Australia, Ear Science Institute Australia and Karnyirninpa Jukurrpa.
