Identity of Newman man accused of assaulting minor revealed

The identity of the man accused of assaulting a 15-year-old girl as she walked to school in Newman last week has been revealed. On Tuesday South Hedland detectives charged Brent Mathew Ronald Gilbert, 18, with deprivation of liberty and aggravated indecent assault after their investigation into an incident on Friday, June 4. It will be alleged between 7.30am and 8am a 15-year-old girl was walking on Kalgan Drive when the man approached her and indecently assaulted her. Mr Gilbert was remanded in custody after bail was not considered. He will face Newman Magistrates court on Thursday, June 10.
