Runs flowed at the Marie Marland Reserve in South Hedland on Saturday as Jets batters roared to life against the Pirates.

Jets took the lead in the first inning, scoring one run and keeping Pirates from scoring.

The side’s batters were on fire during the second innings, blasting a four-run inning to take a five-run lead into the third.

Pirates fought back in the third inning, outscoring Jets to cut the lead to four runs.

Jets ran rampant in the fourth and fifth innings, blasting two five-run innings while Pirates could only manage four runs in the fourth, with Jets winning 16-6.

Vanessa Wainwright starred for the Jets, blasting the only home run of the game.

In the other A-grade game, Pirates Boys went toe to toe with Raiders in an action-packed game.

The boys came out firing, taking the victory 9-4 on the back of a complete performance by the team.

Restricting the high-scoring Raiders to four runs gave the Boys a great opportunity to win as long as their bats fired.

Runs flowed from the Boys’ team, Corey Bowins smashed two home runs, while Ambrose Italiano blasted a home run as well.

In the reserves, Hawks dominated Pirates 2 cruising to the win 16-4, meanwhile Jets 2 and Raiders 2 had a high scoring run-fest with Jets coming out on top 15-12.
