Hedland rollerbladers and skaters busted out their best tricks for the Sth Side Sk8 event celebrating National Mental Health Week.

The community enjoyed a free barbecue with live entertainment, stalls and activities, as well as free skate mentoring with North West Roller Derby, at the South Hedland Skatepark last Thursday night.

Local artist and Hedland Art Awards 2018 finalist Howard Holder gave away a personally designed skateboard using the themes of Mental Health Week as a prize on the night.

The main theme of the board used orange and purple in the subject of mental health, with a brainstorm as its main idea.

The event was supported by Town of Port Hedland, Mingle Mob, Helping Minds and EPIC.
