Marble Bar travellers warned of bushfire
People travelling along Ripon Hills Road have been issued an alert as a bushfire moves slowly in the area.
The Shire of East Pilbara is managing the fire which is believed to be started by accident near the intersection of Ripon Hills Road and Woody Road in Marble Bar and is uncontained and uncontrolled.
There is no threat to lives or homes and roads have not been closed however there is a lot of smoke in the area and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services asks drivers to be cautious, turn headlights on, slow down and watch for emergency services personnel.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible.
