Minor injuries after driver collides with light pole in Port Hedland

A driver has collided with a light pole in Wedgefield on Thursday afternoon after experiencing a medical episode.

South Hedland Police Senior Sergeant Gordon Armstrong said “thankfully” only minor injuries were sustained by the woman in her 40s who was driving the vehicle.

The accident on the Great Northern Highway between South Hedland and Port Hedland was attended to by emergency services including South Hedland Volunteer Fire and Rescue.

Police temporarily blocked off a section of the highway and directed traffic around the scene while debris was cleared.
