More wild weather on way to batter Pilbara

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for the Pilbara.

The Bureau of Meteorology has advised residents to take action and stay safe with damaging winds on the way.

The areas at risk include Port Hedland, Whim Creek, Roebourne, Wickham, Karratha and Dampier.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services advises residents to stay indoors, stay away from windows, unplug electrical appliances and if flooding occurs place sandbags around doorways.

If driving, motorists are advised to slow down, be alert and not to drive in waters of unknown depth.
