Hedland locals will be treated to bubbly, canapes and a movie on Friday, June 1 in an effort to raise money for Montana Ytting, who was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma in November 2013.

The fundraiser has been organised to support Montana’s family through a tough time and send them all on holiday before she becomes too unwell.

McDonald’s Hedland has organised a gold-class movie night at Matt Dann Theatre.

Tickets will be $50 and include pre-movie drinks and canapes, a viewing of Avengers: Infinity War and the opportunity to win a door prize. The cocktail hour will start at 6.30pm and tickets can be purchased from the Pilbara Media offices, at Court Street, South Hedland, or by emailing Hedlandgoldclass@gmail.com.

In January, the 10-year-old was told there was no evidence of disease, but in March tests found the cancer has returned and treatment options are now running low. Montana’s aunt, Teriena Ytting, said the family could not be more grateful for ongoing community support.

“The people here have helped us so much over the years, and we really appreciate all the love,” she said. “We really just want to continue to raise awareness of neuroblastoma, take Montana on a holiday but also say thank you.”
