New season kicks off

The first round of Hedland Touch Association’s matches were played in fine conditions last week as teams returned keen to show their might.
Coming off a successful last season as the top team in the A-grade, Conquerors returned, defeating Crazy Horses in a close game, 7-6.
Karel Vanrysinge scored two tries for Crazy Horses and Shag Levi was best on ground for the girls on the winning side.
Slow Lemons were off to a solid start facing off against Anzac Slap, but could not keep up in the second half, finishing with a score of 6-3.
The Bad Touch also returned with a promising start to the new season, defeating Phoenix, 11-6.
John Stade and Gemma Hoop were best on ground.
Nads have proved they are shaping up well for the season after an impressive win against new team Pengwins, who were left almost scoreless in their first match after a 13-1 loss.
Mulba Mophs beat Jets, 6-4, after a nailbiting game in which the sides got off to a close start.
Matches are played every Wednesday at the Marie Marland Reserve in South Hedland.
