The North West Festival is definitely returning this year, but with a “reduced format”.

Now in it’s sixth year, the Port Hedland event will this year feature a music event on Saturday, August 19 and a Sundowner the next day.

Town of Port Hedland Mayor Camilo Blanco said he was excited to finally announce the event’s return.

“We know that the North West Festival is a much-loved event in the Port Hedland community and brings not only hundreds of visitors to town but also much-anticipated music acts,” he said.

“We are delighted to have BHP on board as a major sponsor to ensure that the weekend of music, culture and fun returns to Port Hedland.”

While event has been scaled back to two days rather that the usual three, Mr Blanco said he was confident it would be something the whole community could look forward to.

“There is no other festival like this in the Pilbara region, and we hope the community enjoy what has always been a fantastic weekend.”

BHP manager maintenance port Casey Fimmel said they were proud to be supporting the event.

The festival’s line up, location and ticketing information will be announced in coming weeks.
