Children and families across Port Hedland can rejoice as Marapikurrinya Park Playground will soon reopen to the public.

In the final stages of completion, the popular park is scheduled to reopen in the first week of June.

Town of Port Hedland Mayor Camilo Blanco said the progress on the rebuild was looking excellent, with the shade structures and playground infrastructure fully installed.

The final works including installation of the boundary fence, new seating, water bubbler and landscaping are under way,” he said.

“While things are looking great, we encourage all community members to keep their safety in mind and wait for the official opening before attempting to use the park.”
