Hedland’s new police dog has aided in a number of arrests this week after a routine traffic stop turned into a chase.

Four people were charged with various offences after officers attempted to stop the car they were travelling in, but instead found themselves chasing it through South Hedland.

Police allege the driver of the vehicle attempted to outrun them by going through bushland, but PD Maygar was on hand and trapped the quartet.

The alleged driver was arrested and charged with failing to stop when called upon by police and a number of outstanding warrants.

The three other passengers in the car were also arrested and charged on a number of outstanding warrants.
