Port throughput surge

Pilbara Ports Authority delivered a throughput of 59.1 million tonnes last month, a 10 per cent increase on last year.

The Port of Port Hedland achieved a monthly throughput of 44.7 million tonnes, a 12 per cent surge from the previous year.

Iron ore exports for May totalled 44 million tones, an increase of 12 per cent from the same time last year.

Imports totalled 157,000 tonnes, a 19 per cent increase on last year.

The Port of Dampier delivered a monthly throughput of 14.3 million tonnes — a 4 per cent increase on last year, however, imports decreased by 40 per cent.
