Town of Port Hedland Ranger Services has come home as runner-up in the 2017 Ranger Team of the Year Awards.

Despite missing out on the gong, the team has come second in the prestigious awards, with ranger Jack Krisanski also named runner-up in the individual 2017 Ranger of the Year Award.

The annual awards recognise deeds and achievements by WA local government rangers that go over and above the call of duty.

Mr Krisanski said it was nice to have some recognition for what they did on a daily basis.

“We do everything, from finding lost dogs, to attending bush fires and everything in between,” he said.

“It’s the best job in the world and if anyone was looking to get into the job, just have a crack at it.”

The Town of Port Hedland also congratulated the team for the work they carried out in the community.
