Road closure update for Pilbara

After a hectic week of severe weather warnings, a flood watch has been issued for the Pilbara.

Recent rainfall associated with the tropical low is causing river rises and areas of flooding in the Pilbara.

People in or near the catchments of Ashburton River, Lyndon-Minilya Rivers, the De Gray River Catchment and the Onslow Coastal Rivers.

Main Roast Western Australia have released an alert for extreme caution on all roads and encourages people to check road conditions before travelling.

Pilbara main road conditions are:

Currently, Marble Bar Road is open to high clearance 4WDs and trucks only with extreme caution with the exception of the Shaw River/Abydos intersection to Marble Bar.

Nanutarra-Munjina Road is open to high clearance 4WDs and trucks only at North West Coastal Highway to Paraburdoo-Tom Price Road and Bingarn to Auski Roadhouse.

The North West Coastal Highway is open to all vehicles with extreme caution.

Paraburdoo-Tom Price Road is open to high clearance 4WDs and trucks only with all other vehicles only allowed from Paraburdoo to Tom Price Directly.

Ripon Hills Road from Marble Bar to Telfer turn off is closed to all vehicles.

Travelling to the Kimberley Great Northern Highway from Derby to Fitzroy Crossing is open with extreme caution to all vehicles.

However, Gibb River Road from the Blina Turn off to the Great Northwen Highway turn off is closed to all vehicles.
