Round five of Hedland Touch sees grand final replay end in a draw

A draw, a blow out and a one point win were all part of the fabric that made up round five of the Hedland Touch Association’s 2022 season. Game one was between 2021 runners up the Rusty Pipes and the Pengwins, and the Rusty Pipes performance was anything but rusty. Leading from the outset, the Pipes dominated the field and took out an 11 try win over the Pengwins. The final scores were 13-2. Next up, it was Phoenix taking on the Conquerors who have proved a team to watch in 2022. While Phoenix were on a high after their first win of the season last week, the Conquerors were just too good, taking home a six try, 10-4 win. In game three, reigning premiers the Nads toppled Touchy Touchy 10-4. It was a winning week for Trailer Park Trash who had a four try win over the Emus, with the game ending 9-5. The showdown of the week was a 2021 B grade grand final replay between the Quality Coatings and the Chafing Dreams. While last year’s grand final was close, the replay was closer with both sides going try for try throughout the entire match. In the end, it was all tied up and the match ended with a 10-10 draw. The last match was another close one between the Crazy Horses and the Saints, with only a point in it at the match’s close. Final scores were the Saints 9 to the Crazy Horses 8.
