A bushfire advice has been issued for parts of Strelley in the Shire of East Pilbara after a fire broke out late last night.

The fire is burning in the south east part of Strelley along Marble Bar Road, 50km south of Great Northern Highway.

While the cause of the fire is yet unknown, it is moving slowly and out of control with firefighters from Abydos mine site in attendance.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services have advised motorists to avoid the area if possible due to a lot of smoke being in the area, and to slow down and watch for emergency personnel.

Currently, there is no threat to lives or homes and no roads have been closed.
