Strong field takes on open
The Continental Tyres Port Hedland Golf Club Open attracted a strong field of 60 competitors at the weekend.
Players enjoyed good weather over both days and their scores reflected the conditions.
The men’s A-grade gross winner was Wayne Groombridge, with a gross score of 136, from Kevin Cartwright on 146.
The ladies’ A-grade gross winner was Gina Hipworth, with a gross score of 170, from Janice Bentley on 173.
The men’s A-grade net winner was Ken Wilcocks on 134, from Glen Russell on 135.
The ladies’ A-grade net winner was Natalie Devenish on 144, from Lyn Lissa on 151.
The men's B-grade winner was Robert Fedorowicz on 83 Stableford points from Mark Pickering on 72.
Ladies’ B-grade winner was Helen Wright on 70 Stableford points from Aroha Brockman on 67 points. Men's C-grade winner was Roo Thompson on 82 Stableford points from Murray Allen on 80.
