Swans hold off Sharks surge in latest Hedland baseball round win

The Swans have survived a late Sharks surge to record a nail-biting one-run win in the latest Hedland Baseball Association round last Wednesday night. Squaring up to bat first, the Swans put daylight between themselves and their opponents to be leading 6-2 by the end of the second innings. John Ziegelaar led the charge with three runs-batted-in, with pitcher Mitch Williams and Kyle Edwards also contributing. Up 10-4 with the Sharks’ last innings to come, the Swans leaked five late runs to open the door for their opponents but held on to register the win. Adam Slann and Matt Christie each recorded two runs-batted-in for the Sharks. The second game of the night as forfeited with the Pirates unable to field a team.
