A 17-year-old man has been charged after he allegedly threatened to injure a woman with a pocket knife near Subway in South Hedland.

Police said the man was part of a group of males that approached a 35-year-old woman standing with her vehicle at 7pm on Sunday.

It is understood the group spoke with the woman and then left the area.

However, the offender allegedly returned a short time later and threatened the woman with a pocket knife.

Police identified the man using CCTV footage from the area.

The 17-year-old appeared in Court this morning and was charged with going armed in public to cause terror and threat to harm or injure.

He was refused bail.
