The Town will be undertaking tree lopping and maintenance works this month in preparation for cyclone season.

Works commenced last week and will run until September 20.

Preparations include removing coconuts from palm trees and the general maintenance of trees and shrubbery, minimising the risk of flying debris during a cyclonic weather event.

The cleaning campaign forms part of the Town’s annual pre-cyclone season campaign to make the community safer.

Community members have been advised to take care, be mindful of workers, signage and machinery in parks and public spaces for the duration of works.
