Taylar AmoniniThe West Australian

The Town of Port Hedland will place a temporary ban on the acceptance of commercial tyres at the South Hedland Landfill.

The Town revealed this afternoon that existing stockpiles of tyres have reached a critical level and the Town needed to assess its procedure for storage and processing.

The Town has said the ban is a temporary measure, starting this Monday, February 5, and is expected to last for six weeks, however domestic tyres will continue to be accepted during the period.
