A Pilbara logistics company has expanded its operations to Port Hedland with the launch of a new facility.

James and Sarah Stewart Logistics started operating in Karratha 13 years ago and has grown from two trucks to a fleet of more than 30 prime movers and 90 trailers and dollies.

Apart from its branch in Karratha, JSS also has a branch in Perth and provides services throughout the metropolitan area, Pilbara, Kimberley and greater WA.

The family-owned business, which transports anything from small packages to 80-tonne heavy hauling, has been awarded a two-year lease in Port Hedland.

Long-time Karratha resident and JSS Logistics managing director Sarah Stewart said the new facility, based on Harwell Way in Wedgefield, would make it more convenient for customers in the region and more competitive for existing providers.

“We have identified through our customers that there was a requirement for a transport company at a competitive rate in Port Hedland,” Mrs Stewart said.

“It is an opportunity to be able to store freight, as well as service customers in Karratha that we have been servicing for the last 10 years.”
