The tropical low heading off the Kimberley Coast has brought with it some much welcomed rain for parts of the Pilbara.

However, the Department of Emergency Services has advised people in the De Grey River and Sandy Desert Catchments to prepare for minor flooding expected in the coming days due to the low.

While there is no immediate danger yet, the Department has urged residents to prepare to relocate equipment and livestock, prepare an emergency kid and fill vehicle fuel tanks.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology the tropical low has been predicted to strengthen over open water and may become a tropical cyclone on Wednesday.

If flooding does occur, residents can call for SES assistance on 132 500.

Visit emergency.wa.gov.au or call 13 DFES to keep up to date as the low develops.
