Repairs to a damaged water main at the Stanley Street water tank will see South Hedland, Wedgefield and Redbank without running water for several hours next week. Water Corporation has advised water supply will be interrupted from 8.30pm on September 29, with low water pressure initially, followed by a full outage until no later than 8.30am the next morning. Water Corp has asked residents to avoid non-essential water use during the repair works, in order to maintain the reserve supply for as long as possible. During repairs, customers can collect bottled water and larger volumes of drinking water from a mobile tank at Wanangkura Stadium carpark on Hamilton Road. Parker Street will be closed in both directions between North Circular Rd and Kennedy Street from 8.30am September 29, with traffic management and detours in place for several days. Water Corp advised to prepare by refrigerating drinking water, having full buckets on hand to refill toilet cisterns and ensuring showers were taken before the shut-off period. They also said washing machines and dishwashers should not be used during this time to avoid damage.
