Women’s wellness celebrated in fun week
Hedland Well Women’s Centre has organised a jam-packed schedule of events for this year’s Women on Wellness Week, which runs until this Sunday.
Well Women’s Centre programs co-ordinator Tracey Morrison said WOW Week aimed to engage local women in free workshops and events that addressed mental, physical, dietary and social wellness. “There are not many places that you can do a whole array of workshops that will help enhance your physical, emotional and social wellbeing for free,” she said.
“These events are so important, especially for people who would normally not be able to afford these kinds of workshops or for those who just weren’t aware these things are available in our community. “It brings people together, introduces them to new and interesting activities and they have fun doing it.”
Ms Morrison said highlights of the week would be a high tea this Sunday at the Well Women’s Centre from 10am-noon, a Care for Hedland community gardening event, and a mini health retreat.
Other events include a wine and cheese sundowner, laughter therapy, an anxiety workshop, a patchwork and quilting session, a paleo lunch date, foot massages, and a speech pathology talk.
WOW Week is aimed at women, but there are several events men are welcome to attend.
