Perth traffic: Peak hour crashes closes lanes on Kwinana Freeway, Reid Highway on Monday afternoon

A peak hour crash on Kwinana Freeway northbound is causing traffic chaos on Monday afternoon as commuters begin to drive home.

The crash is located on the Freeway at Russell Road in Atwell and was reported by Main Roads at 3.14pm.

The right lane has been completely blocked by the crash which is causing congestion leading up to the site.

Main Roads has reminded drivers to exercise “extreme” caution if travelling in the area, and to allow for a safe merge when passing the incident.

Another crash on Reid Highway eastbound is also causing delays in Perth’s north.

The crash, reported by Main Roads at 4.29pm, is located after Alexander Drive in Mirrabooka.

The crash has since been cleared.

A breakdown on Kwinana Freeway northbound at Salter Point is also causing major congestion.

The breakdown — located before Canning Highway — was reported by Main Roads at 4.01pm.

The breakdown has since been cleared, but traffic remains backed up to the Leach Highway intersection.

Another crash has been reported on Kwinana Freeway northbound, on the entry ramp from South Street in Bateman.

The right lane of the entry ramp was been blocked by the crash.

The crash has since been cleared but traffic is slow on approach to the site.
