APA Group offers apprentice role in the Pilbara

Australia’s largest natural gas infrastructure has continued to focus on training local workers with applications now open for an apprentice in Karratha as part of its 2022 program. The APA Group program will offer nine new apprentice roles across Australia, including an apprentice mechanical technician in Karratha. APA operations executive Darren Rogers said the pandemic had demonstrated why it was important to focus on local opportunities for career paths. “The pandemic has underscored the importance of training and skilling local workers and that’s why we are focused on continuing to create skills pathways for local and regional workers,” he said. “We want to not only train and skill more Australians but we also want to boost opportunities in a post-COVID world.” APA apprenticeship program coordinator Katie Tunnah said it was important to continue skilling the next generation of technicians. APA offers apprenticeships in engineering mechanical trade, welding, gas fitters and electrical technicians. Applications close on September 17.
