A program designed to help develop the capacity and resilience of local businesses has been launched in Exmouth.

The Exmouth Business Accelerator Program was officially launched by the Exmouth Chamber of Commerce and Industry in partnership with Woodside and Mitsui E&P Australia last week.

The program provides a series of workshops and focuses on improving the local industry's economic viability, providing training and helping with the promotion of tender opportunities and business networking events. Workshops for the program were tailored to support local business recovery, sus-tainability and growth in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The sessions are one to two hours long and include meetings and networking engagement opportunities. Three workshops have been run to date, covering topics from cybersecurity to understanding contracts. ECCI president David Gillespie said the partnership would support business development, improve economic viability and in-crease employment opportunities. Woodside vice-president operations Mike Price said the program was an extension of the company’s support of local organisations through its community grants and partnerships.
