Engines roared to life in Karratha when bikers from around the Pilbara took part in the annual Poker Ride to raise money for charity.

Riders from Karratha, Port Hedland, Exmouth, and Carnarvon took part in the Karratha Bikers Association event on July 4, which raised $2500 for the Salvation Army.

Kicking off from The Tav in Karratha, the riders went out to Dampier and finished in Cossack.

KBA vice-president Neal Tollison said there was a lot of community support at each venue.

“The proceeds from today are going to the Salvation Army, we give them food vouchers from Woolworths, and the Salvos will hold on to those until Christmas and hand them out then,” he said.
