A Karratha bikers group has given disadvantaged schoolchildren in Karratha, Wickham and Roebourne a helping hand with their education through a donation of more than $10,000 in school supplies.

Some $10,000 in supplies were dropped off at all the primary schools and was the result of a major Karratha Bikers Association fundraiser — the Father’s Day Car, Bike and 4WD Show.

The annual show has raised $36,607 for school children over the last four years and since it began nine years ago has raised $85,667 for the local community.

KBA president Neil Tollison said the club would like to thank everybody who attended the event.

“With all the support received we were able to raise the funds needed to donate school stationery for the sixth year running,” he said.

“The stationery to the value of $10,000 will be able to help disadvantaged children at our local primary schools.”
