A lucky Karratha man has become an overnight millionaire after purchasing a winning Saturday Lotto ticket.

The tradesman, who wanted to stay anonymous, took home a total prize of $1,075,621 and said he was in shock after he reviewed his numbers on the Lotterywest mobile application.

“I was pacing around the house like a zombie,” he said.

The man said he had been playing for two decades and was glad his patience had finally paid off.

“I have been playing the same numbers for the last 20 years, I had a division two win in the early years, but nothing like this,” he said.

“I’m kind of glad I didn’t win 20 years ago, as I have a bit of a more mature head on my shoulders now.”

The City of Karratha had benefited from Lotterywest players with a $1.4 million grant towards the redevelopment of the Dampier Foreshore.
