Kats, Sharks win in North Pilbara Football League women’s round 15 to set up qualifying final clash

The Karratha Kats continued to dominate the North Pilbara Football League women’s competition by downing Karratha Falcons by 42 points in the final round of the regular season. Kats never looked concerned during the round 15 clash at Bulgarra Oval on August 19, running out to a 23-point lead at halftime. A dominant second half saw the Kats continue to extend their lead while keeping the Falcons scoreless. In the end, Kats defeated Karratha Falcons 6.6 (42) to 0.0. Asharnti Mowarin and Daneele Ryan booted two goals each for the Kats, while their teammates Kiara Ganzer and Brohdi Woods kicked one goal each. In the other game of the round, Dampier Sharks ran roughshod over Wickham Wolves in a one-sided clash. Sharks dominated the opening half, booting five goals to none while controlling the contest. Wolves came out firing in the second half, fighting hard to slow the Sharks’ momentum but were unable to apply any scoreboard pressure. In the end, Dampier Sharks downed Wickham Wolves 6.5 (41) to 0.0. Sharks’ Tiahnee Pasche was the standout player with a four-goal haul. The finals season for the NPFL women’s league starts on August 27, when reigning premiers Karratha Kats take on second-placed Dampier Sharks in the qualifying final, while Hedland Blazers will face off against Karratha Falcons in the elimination final.
