A Nickol man has pleaded not guilty over a string of charges relating to an alleged police chase in Karratha last month. Jerome Coffin, 27, denied 11 charges last week relating to an alleged evade police incident on April 17. The charges included three counts of failing to comply with a direction to stop in circumstance of aggravation, three counts of reckless driving to escape pursuit by police, and no authority to drive. Police alleged Mr Coffin was driving the vehicle in Karratha at excessive speed and failed to stop. After a vehicle pursuit, a foot chase allegedly ensued. Mr Coffin, who appeared via video link from Roebourne Regional Prison on Tuesday last week, also denied an unrelated trespassing charge and unlawful wounding charge. He was due to face court again yesterday.
