Schapelle Corby shows off Pilbara holiday in big Instagram photo dump

Australia’s most famous Bali convict-turned-reality TV star Schapelle Corby has shared a stack of photos from a mid-year trip to the Pilbara with her 162,000 Instagram followers.

Ms Corby revealed to Instagram she had snuck in a trip to WA’s Pilbara back in June while borders were open before the Eastern States was hit by a fresh wave of COVID-19.

In a series of photos posted to the social media platform, Ms Corby can be seen exploring the gorges of Karijini National Park, taking in history at Point Samson and marvelling at the Karratha Good Grocer’s large avocados.

“Coz not doing anything lately - Here's a photo drop of my trip to The Pilbara, Western Australia , back in early June- before the lockdowns began again,” she wrote to her fans.

In a second series of photos a day later Ms Corby shared a selfie with Red Dog in Dampier, visited the ancient petroglyphs of Ngajari (Deep Gorge) and dipped her toes in the water at Hearson Cove.

The pics attracted a heap of adoring comments from her followers and were liked by fellow Dancing with the Stars contestant, WA model Jessica Gomes.

The 43-year-old is best known as a convicted drug trafficker who spent nine years in Bali’s notorious Kerobokan prison for smuggling marijuana into the tourist hotspot in a boogie board bag.

She was released on parole in 2014 and returned to Australia in 2017.

Ms Corby has had a breakout year in her path to redemption, having scored a spot on Channel 7’s Dancing With the Stars and was rumoured to have accepted a role as a guest star on Home and Away.

Her stint on Dancing with the Stars was short-lived, having been eliminated early after a jive with ex-Bachelor Matty J.

In 2020 she was one of the contestants in 7’s SAS: Australia, withdrawing herself in episode two.

In an interview with New Idea, Ms Corby said she was trying to focus on the present and was keeping her options open.
