The State Government has opened applications for the fourth round of its $40 million Regional Economic grants

The State Government has opened applications for the fourth round of its $40 million Regional Economic Development grants, with up to $250,000 available for regional projects. The first three rounds of the program helped deliver more than 200 businesses and community-driven projects across regional WA. Round four will focus on projects which would increase or sustain jobs, expand or diversify the industry, develop skills or capability, increase business productivity and attract new investment to the regions. Regional Development Minister Alannah MacTiernan said diversifying regional economies and building local businesses was vital to the long-term strength of regional communities. “The McGowan Government is continuing to back our regional communities by investing in projects to stimulate economic growth and drive long-term sustainability,” she said. “Over the past three years, through the RED Grants program, we have invested more than $20.7 million towards projects in agriculture and mining manufacturing, infrastructure, construction, tourism and professional skills development. “We encourage businesses and organisations across the regions to consider how RED Grant funding could support their projects.” Applications close on October 21.
