West Pilbara Junior Cricket Association hosting clinics to kick off Karratha’s summer of sport

Junior cricketers in Karratha are gearing up for the summer of sport with a series of workshops in September. WA Cricket north west manager Chris Secker is heading to Karratha to run a series of sessions to help junior and female cricketers sharpen their skills in preparation for the 2022-23 season. Sessions will be held on various days and times for different age groups, starting with a free session for under 12s at Baynton West Oval on September 7 from 3.30pm to 5pm. Another session will be open for all primary school children on September 8 at the Karratha Leisureplex from 4pm to 5pm. The sessions aim to give children who may be new to cricket a chance to have a go before registering to play for the season. A female-only cricket session will also be held. Secker will also visit most schools in and around Karratha to discuss cricket with keen students and teachers. A level 1 coach course and coaching workshops are also on offer for those interested in coaching or upskilling.
