Fun school break workshops

Hedland families will be inundated with school holiday activities, thanks to the local community organisation EPIC.

The not-for-profit organisation, Empowering People In Communities is bringing back the free Have-A-Go workshops for the April school holidays.

The workshops will run from April 10 to 13 in various places, depending on the workshop.

With all ages and abilities welcome, the program will bring activities such as DIY candle making, roller derby wheelie workshops, boxing, Easter bunny basket weaving, Easter egg tie-dyeing and more.

After a successful workshop last school holidays, Lisa’s Kangaroo Retreat will also be returning to host pouch-sewing workshops for new joeys at the retreat.

Community co-ordinator Sheridan Green said the workshops aim at working as a platform to help clubs connect with people throughout the community.

“Everything we do is socially inclusive, all family-friendly, all ages, all abilities,” she said. “Everyone from the age of six to 60 can come along and join in the fun.”

To find out more about available workshops and to register at a specific activity, call EPIC Hedland on 9172 4590 or email hedland@empower ingpeople.org.au.
