GolfWA has expanded its regional engagement in the Pilbara, partnering with Karratha Indoor Golf to deliver a series of free “come and try” programs and structured introductory golf courses during July, August and September.
The initiative includes a range of junior and women’s programs aimed at making golf more accessible to beginners in the region, with sessions held at Karratha Indoor Golf.
A four-week Junior MyGolf program for ages 8-plus will begin on Tuesday, August 4, from 5–6pm, with a second program starting on Tuesday, September 1, from 5–6pm.
For women and girls, two four-week Women’s Get into Golf programs, will run from 6.15–7.15pm, with the first beginning on Tuesday, August 4, and the second starting on Tuesday, September 1.
The programs are supported by the Creative Industries for Tourism and Sport and the Regional Servicing Grant, which aim to strengthen sporting opportunities across regional Western Australia.
GolfWA says the initiative is part of a broader push to grow participation outside themetropolitan area and more in regional areas, particularly in communities where access to coaching and facilities can be limited.
