Groundwater probe fund

Taylar AmoniniNorth West Telegraph

Water Minister Mia Davies last week announced funding of $11.5 million to increase the State’s commitment to expanded irrigated agriculture through groundwater investigations.

Ms Davies said the State Government was committed to investigating the understanding of groundwater availability and sustained yields in prospective locations in regional WA.

“This additional investment in groundwater investigations across the State underlines our commitment to increasing the value of primary industries in Western Australia,” she said. The increased funding will now bring the total investment in the Water for Food program to $127.5 million.
