Law for fire brigade

Taylar AmoniniNorth West Telegraph

The Town of Port Hedland Bush Fire Brigades have moved a pivotal step forward in protecting the town against fire with the introduction of a local law.

At last week’s council meeting, councillors agreed upon the proposed Town of Port Hedland Bush Fire Brigades Local Law 2017 which allows for the establishment, management and administration of the brigade within the Town.

The council approved the establishment of a bushfire brigade at its November council meeting. To support the formation of the brigade the Town was required to have a local law.

The new law has been published in the Government Gazette which can be found on the Town of Port Hedland website.
