PPA throughput increases 7 per cent for July compared with same time last year

The Pilbara Ports Authority announced a 7 per cent increase in its July throughput compared with the same time period last year. The PPA announced on August 16 it had delivered a total monthly throughput of 62.8 million tonnes for July , with the Port of Port Hedland achieving a monthly throughput of 47.4Mt, of which 46.7Mt was iron ore exports. This was a 5 per cent increase to total throughput compared with July 2021. Meanwhile, imports through the Port Hedland facility totalled 184,000 tonnes, an increase of 2 per cent compared with the previous July. At the Port of Dampier a total throughput of 14.4Mt was recorded which was an 11 per cent increase from July 2021. However, imports through the Dampier facility dropped by a staggering 18 per cent compared with July 2021 with a total of 93,000 tonnes.
