Pilbara residents can get in the Telethon spirit by purchasing a $2 token at Wickham Woolworths. During October, Woolworths is encouraging Pilbara customers to help children and families in need by supporting the Telethon Fundraising Appeal by simply buying a $2 token or rounding up their purchase to the nearest dollar when they shop. Now in its 10th year, the Woolworths and Telethon partnership has helped raise more than $4.1 million, providing life-changing opportunities for children living with disabilities across West Australian communities. Woolworths Karratha and Woolworths Wickham group manager Daniel Gerritsen said it was essential to support Telethon so it could provide community members across Western Australia with the help needed. “We were also excited to support the community Bake Sale for Telethon last month, offering $100 vouchers to participating members for their baking ingredients,” he said. “This fundraising effort raised over $12,000 alone.” “We are extremely grateful for the continuous generosity of our customers, providing a positive impact on families and children in Western Australia.” Channel 7 Telethon Trust chairman Richard Goyder said through the partnership with Woolworths, Telethon was able to exceed expectations and help change the lives of so many children and families. “Every dollar plays a vital role in directly helping a Western Australian family during a challenging time, and we are thankful for the incredible support from our community,” he said.
